About Us

Invitation for the opening of Pittsburgh-South Hills Elks Lodge #2213.
Invitation for the opening of Pittsburgh-South Hills Elks Lodge #2213.

On South Park Road in Bethel Park, Lodge #2213 has been doing something quietly remarkable: feeding veterans for free on recognition nights, raising funds for kids who need a leg up, and keeping a gathering place alive in a suburb that could easily forget it needs one. The ravioli dinners are real. The pumpkin pie at the end of the Veterans dinner is real. These aren't catered affairs, they're cooked by members who show up early and stay late.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded on the principle that charity isn't a check you write, it's a meal you serve, a rent payment you help cover, a phone call you answer. Lodge #2213 carries that forward through direct community assistance, youth scholarships, and programs that reach people who have never had to ask for help before and find it hard to do so now.

Membership here means something beyond a card in your wallet. It means showing up at the Bethel Park hall, knowing the regulars at the bar, and being part of a network that has your back when circumstances get difficult. That's the Elks promise, and this lodge delivers it.

What We Offer

Lodge #2213 hosts Veterans recognition dinners that honor active and retired service members with a free meal and genuine appreciation, not a ceremony for show. Community members and spouses are welcome alongside, making it a real family evening rather than a formal obligation.

Beyond the dining room, the lodge runs charitable assistance programs for local families facing medical hardship, housing emergencies, and other crises. Youth scholarship funds, Elks National Foundation grants, and lodge-level giving all flow through here. Members also have access to the lodge hall for private events, a full-service bar, and a calendar of social gatherings year-round.

For those considering membership, Lodge #2213 accepts applications from U.S. citizens who believe in God and meet the Order's standards of good character. Dues are modest relative to what you receive: community, purpose, and a hall on South Park Road that feels like it belongs to you.

"It was great! They had a dinner for Veterans so my husband and I went. He is an Air Force vet. They served a delicious ravioli dinner and pumpkin pie for dessert. His dinner was free and mine was only $10. Very nice of them."

"The food was cold and tasted like freezer burn, cardboard. Mixed drinks were weak, and way too expensive for what they served. Bonnie was very rude and won’t give you more than one choice of food. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for a party."

"I'm a single mom who just went through surgery an on top of the surgery I currently have pneumonia due to my medical issues I have fallen short for my rent. I have never had to ask before an feel completely ashamed that I had to ask in the 1st place. There for me saying with absolute distress DO NOT ask the elk lodge for any type of help. Bonnie the main lady assured me that she could help me for two consecutive weeks I tried to call. No answer I've left voicemails upon voicemails to nothing. Then when I call from someone else's phone she answers 1st call and finds out my name. Then rudely says we can't help you with your rent. Instead of being an Adult an just calling me to verify that they couldn't help. I've told my landlord that they were going to help because SHE said SHE WOULD. I could've been contacting other places this whole time now I'm about to be evicted because she feel back on her word. I currently can't work due to me having a fever of 102.7 NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!!!!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
